Connecting the Dots

CODO: Problem Statement, Intervention and Targeted Outcome

Problem Statement

Holistic Development of the Village
  1. Lack of vision for a “developed” village enabling “excellent quality of life”
  2. Lack of blueprint for holistic development of the village to get to excellent quality of life
  3. Lack of ownership for holistic development of the village
  4. No coordinated effort by Government entities, NGOs, NPOs etc., for end-to-end, holistic development of the villages
  5. Scalability of NGOs, NPOs, FPOs engaged in various aspects of rural development

Intervention

Facilitate development of a “Vision” by the “stakeholders” (villagers) for a “developed world-class village” in every aspect of village life that is an alternative to urban life
  • Introduce the “world-view” of Quality of Life in a developed village for development of “their” Vision
Facilitate Gap Analysis in the Vision and ground reality on every aspect of village life

Facilitate development of a Blueprint and timelines for fixing the identified gaps

Facilitate execution of Blueprint
  • Identify and facilitate engagement of appropriate resources (Government entities, NGOs, NPOs, FPOs, CSR) for addressing the gap(s)
  • Enable the scale for execution for NGOs/NPOs/FPOs in the adopted villages
Own and manage the progress of the Blueprint for the stakeholders
  • Establish Structured Management and Ownership of each stream of Blueprint from within the stakeholders
  • Bring accountability to the execution
  • Establish review mechanisms with the stakeholders

Targeted Outcome

  • Identify and engage appropriate entities (NGOs/NPOs, etc.) to address these acute developmental issues
  • Show tangible results in a short time
Introduce world-view of developed village Quality of Life to the stakeholders to seed development of vision
  • Stakeholder visit to better villages, interact with counterparts

Documented Vision Statement by the stakeholders

Year 2:
