RUJO: Rural Job Creation

Farm Sector

  • Identified 7 farmers in village Kohrana for sponsoring and funding unsubsidized portion of Drip Irrigation Solution in 50,0002m (5 hectares)
  • Identified 1 farmer in village Kohrana for sponsoring and funding unsubsidized portion of pilot Polyhouse farm of 1,0002m.
  • Finalized two vendors, Netafim and Jain Irrigation for supply of Drip Irrigation solution, and Jain Irrigation for supply of Polyhouse solution
  • Initiated process for Government sanction of subsidy for farmers for drip irrigation and polyhouse with a target completion of the process to avail benefit of monsoon sowing season
  • Engaged Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) for technical consulting
  • Engaged Indo-Israel Center of Excellence for Vegetables at Karnal, Center of Excellence for Fruits at Sirsa, and Center of Excellence for Pomegranate at Bassi (Jaipur)
  • Engaged expert farmers in drip irrigation and polyhouse farming as Mentors for farmers in our identified villages
  • Comprehensive Soil and Water testing of the identified farms by IARI, a first ever initiative for comprehensive soil and water testing in the village
  • Training on drip irrigation organized for the farmers
  • Initiated process for Farmer Producer Company formation
  • Initiated development of Farm ERP system
Non-Farm Sector
  • Initiated tie-up with Usha International for establishing Stitching Unit Production Center for employing women for commercial stitching. Usha International will assess and train women for the unit, help establish the center, handhold women for operations and connect with potential customers. Project to kick-off in August.
CODO: Connecting the Dots for Holistic Rural Development
  • Identified Water Scarcity as the top problem of the village
  • Initiated engagement with Waterman Dr. Rajinder Singh’s organization Tarun Bharat Sangh (http://tarunbharatsangh.in/) to help with potential solutions for water harvesting in our villages
  • Initiated development of Village Management System
TWINT: Teach What is Not Taught
  • Identified TWINT streams for engagement with primary school children
  • Initiated Pilot course development for test launch in August
  • Initiated engagement with Art school for creative development of content
  • Comprehensive research and resource (material, organizations, people) collation for content development
  • Initiated “My Pet Tree” program for planting and ownership of one fruit tree by every child in the village. Program to be launched in August.
KNOPRO: Knowledge Sharing by Professionals
  • Identified Armed Forces as number one area of career counselling by village youth
  • Signed up a serving Lt Col as our first KNOPRO Volunteer. First structured interaction targeted by August.
  • Engaged Dignity Foundation, an NGO that enables senior citizens to lead active lives through easy access to trusted information, opportunities for productive ageing and social support services. B2Ic is seeking volunteers from the senior citizen members of Dignity Foundation who are seasoned professionals for career counselling of our village youth
